We’re on a mission to unlock more rewarding relationships between merchants and their customers, starting with changing the way we pay for things online. Backed by Sequoia, Index Ventures, and Forerunner, as well as the founders of Affirm, Warby Parker, Allbirds, Casper, and DoorDash, Catch is a new payment service that allows both merchants & consumers to save money by cutting out credit card processing fees. Everyone wins – except the big banks!
We’re a fully distributed, tight-knit team of ~45 today but rapidly growing. Building a diverse team is paramount to our success and fostering a healthy company culture, and we’re committed to an equitable interviewing process for all candidates.
As an Account Executive, you will play a key role in bringing Catch to more brands (and more people!) through managing sales cycles from open to close – including outbound prospecting, opportunity management, negotiation, and closing sales with eCommerce brands and retailers. Catch is growing quickly and is eager to bring on a creative, highly-motivated individual with prior selling experience and a desire to make their mark at a fast-moving company.
What will you do?
-Build out Catch’s sales pipeline through a combination of cold outreach, inbound requests, and warm introductions
-Identify potential customers and running the end-to-end sales process from open to close
-Interface and build relationships with C-Suite and VP-level executives within various verticals / industries to build urgency and the business case for integrating Catch
-Partner with cross-functional team members (Product, Marketing, Sales) to translate prospective merchant feedback, business needs, and product requirements into new solutions for customers
-Actively contribute to and uplevel our team processes and overall sales motion to create a best-in-class go-to-market function
-Win new business and enjoy the ride
What skills and experience do you need?
-5+ years experience in outbound sales, responsible for closing new business
-Creative problem solving: we’re a startup after all!
-Comfort with change and ambiguity: not every process is built, not every playbook is written. Priorities and processes evolve quickly and often as we learn and grow together
-Persistence and a bias to action: we all wear many hats and have to pitch in to get done whatever needs doing– big or small
-Strong interpersonal skills and comfort developing and managing a high volume of customer relationships
-Effective communication and presentation skills
- A growth mindset: you’re continuously experimenting, learning and helping others do the same
-Prior experience selling payments to e-commerce brands and retailers is a huge plus that will shorten your ramp time, but not a hard requirement
Catch’s Employee Benefits (not exhaustive & will grow over time):
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision
- Generous family leave policy— four months for either parent
- Unlimited vacation (and we encourage folks to take the time off that they need)
- Focus Fridays: No internal meetings on Fridays so you can end the week with focus time!
- A $500 Home Office Stipend to set up your work from home space
- A $500 per year Learning & Development stipend for personal & career growth
- $50 in Catch credits every month to spend at our merchants
Catch is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
The annual base salary range for the expected level for this role is $125,000- 165,000 at time of posting. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Sales Compensation Plan. Compensation also includes equity and comprehensive benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
